This is a revised version of the third song "CANCION" from the mandolin ensemble "DUENDE" released in 1992 for guitar duet. When it was first composed, the 6th string of the first guitar was tuned down to D, but in the revised version it is tuned normally.
``DUENDE'' is a word that means ``a fairy living in the soil'' or ``a dark spirit.'' This title is intended to be a Spanish and earthy piece of work. "CANCION" means "song." The melancholy melody is inspired by folk songs from the Catalonia region of Spain. For the arpeggio with only the open strings on the second guitar, leave it playing without muting it. It's an easy piece to sing and work on.
