Score/part set

This song, dominated by a Japanese melody, is a mix of dark and bright shadows, reflecting the inner world of the human heart like a shadow of water. The Mizukage appears to take on various shapes depending on the angle from which it is viewed, but similarly to the world shown in this song, the world that is reflected in the listener's mind is not the same for everyone. The mind, washed away by transparent sound, quietly reflects the inner world of every human being, no one is the same.

This piece was commissioned and composed in 1992 for the Nagoya Mandolin Ensemble (Circolo Mandolinistico Nagoya)'s friendly performance trip to China, and was performed by Eiji Kiyama at the "I'm Going Concert" for the friendly performance. It was performed for the first time by the conductor and the ensemble. Afterwards, it was performed under his direction at the Beijing and Nanjing performances of the group's friendly trip to China.
During this performance tour, other Chinese folk songs were arranged and performed jointly by the Nanjing Folk Orchestra, China Central Folk Orchestra, and Nagoya Mandolin Ensemble under the direction of Mr. Kiyama, and the composer himself also conducted. He accompanied Hiroyuki Fujikake as a conductor, conducting ``Pastorale Fantasy'' and other works.
