The composer, Macciocchi (1874-1955), was an Italian mandolinist, guitarist and composer born in Rome, who lived in Paris from around 1900.
In 1905, he also founded the mandolin music magazine "L'ESTUDIANTINA", which published numerous mandolin pieces.
Many of the ensemble pieces, such as the Overture "Miltaglia," "The Mill Girls," "The Wheat Festival," and "The Sky of Seville," are still loved today.
He also left behind duets for mandolin and guitar, but they are surprisingly little known.
