At Ikegaku, we offer services ranging from string replacement to repairs and maintenance for mandolins and classical guitars.

I don't know how to change strings.
→ Our staff will carefully explain how to replace the strings. We also offer string replacement services for a fee. (A handling fee of 1,650 yen plus the actual cost of the strings)

"The strings are hard to press and there's noise when I play."
→ We will provide you with a diagnosis and quote on the spot.

"I just don't know what to do!"
→We will give you a lecture on how to use and manage the product.

"Is the mandolin that's been sleeping in the closet still usable?"
→We will look at it in any condition, so please bring it in!

The tone and volume of an instrument can change dramatically depending on how it is cared for, so after-sales care and maintenance are very important.
Wooden instruments in particular are extremely delicate, and the wood can change due to factors such as temperature and humidity as well as external impacts, making repairs and maintenance necessary.

At Ikegaku, our mandolin repair specialists have trained at the Ochiai Mandolin manufacturer to provide the best possible maintenance. By diagnosing and maintaining your instrument, we can discover problems that go unnoticed through daily use and provide advice on how to maintain it.

We will inform you of the schedule for in-store maintenance by our mandolin specialist technical staff.

★We accept inspections, string changes, bridge position adjustments, and other services even on days when our technical staff is not available. (Reservations are given priority. We also accept services without reservations, but you may have to wait if it is busy.)

What is bridge alignment?

The bridge of a mandolin is not glued to the instrument; it is held in place only by the pressure of the strings. Even with regular use, it can gradually shift out of position, requiring periodic adjustment. The correct bridge position also varies slightly depending on the type and condition of the strings. This is why, after adjusting the bridge, it may be misaligned from its previous position. The position of the bridge can significantly change the sound of the instrument (pitch, volume, resonance, etc.).
