Pavane pour une infante défunte
Composer: M. Ravel
Arrangement: Takuya Ogawa
This year (2025) marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of composer Maurice Ravel (1875-1937), and we have arranged this piece, one of his signature pieces.
The original French title is "Pavane pour une infante défunte," with "infante" being a title used to refer to Spanish royalty.
"Défunte" means "deceased," but it also means "gone, once upon a time," so this is not a memorial song for a specific princess, but a song composed with respect for past royal families. Please play this song expressing your nostalgia for the past to the fullest.
Please enjoy!
