"To You, the Shining One" is an NHK Taiga drama (starring Yoshitaka Yuriko) that depicts the life of Murasaki Shikibu, the author of "The Tale of Genji," written in the Heian period, and has been airing since January 7, 2024.
The title of the main theme is "Amethyst", composed by Yumi Fuyuno, and performed on piano by Kyohei Sorita, who won second place at the 18th International Chopin Piano Competition in 2021.
The original song is in E-flat minor, but in order to make it easier to play for mandolin ensemble, this arrangement has been transposed into D minor, a semitone lower.
