``When I listen to it, various scenes come to mind, and I feel that he is a performer who is full of power to captivate his listeners. ``The Cradle'' is a masterpiece filled with deep feelings. - Guitarist Kiyoshi Shomura”

Tsunehiko Tanaka picked up the mandolin during the Taisho era, when it was not easy to obtain Western sheet music, and became Japan's first professional mandolinist. As one of the founders of the Keio University Mandolin Club and the first president of the Japan Mandolin Federation, his name may be familiar, but what kind of performance activities did he do as a pioneer, what kind of career did he have, and what was his life like? There may not be many people who are familiar with whether or not he sent it. As I deciphered the existing valuable records, the profile of this rare mandolinist began to emerge.
The songs are selected from actual concert programs in which Mr. Tanaka appeared, and the program and co-stars are likened to his life. This includes many Japanese premieres of songs that we now take for granted.
