Message from the President

We believe that music, which provides healing, vitality and enrichment to the soul, is an essential part of life, regardless of the era.
The mandolin, which is our specialty, is one of the most accessible instruments for people of all ages.

There are many mandolin clubs in junior and senior high schools in Japan, and we feel that the mandolin is an instrument well suited to emotional education, based on the activities they carry out, the passion for music of their members, and their serious, diligent attitude toward life.

We believe that spreading mandolin culture will contribute to society. The mandolin originated in Italy, but as mentioned above, Japan has many mandolin clubs in junior and senior high schools, universities, and adult clubs, making it the world's largest mandolin country. It can now be said that mandolin culture is something that Japan can be proud of on the world stage.

We are proud to be involved in music culture, and would like to spread and develop this culture, and spread the wonders of the mandolin from Japan to the world.
We will continue this business with all our heart and soul so that as many people as possible can experience mandolins and guitars, and we aim to become a specialty store that will last for 100 or 200 years.

To that end, we have established a philosophy and are working to develop human resources that can be trusted by customers by holding in-house study sessions, external seminars, and joint study sessions with different industries. All staff members will continue to study hard to create a company that customers can trust and patronize.

History

1954	Founder Takehiro Nanjo begins making musical instruments together with Tadao Ochiai (founder of Ochiai Mandolin).
1967	Established Ikebukuro Musical Instruments Co., Ltd., a Yamaha authorized dealer with a mandolin department.
1997	Mandolin and guitar specialty store "IKEGAKU Co., Ltd." established
Year 2000	Started musical instrument sales and inspection services in Korea
2004	Manufactured and sold the "Fujimaru Mandolin Ikegaku Model" in collaboration with Asturias Guitar Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
2006	Horinoue Futoshi appointed President and CEO
2007	Started musical instrument sales and inspection services in Taiwan. Manufactured and sold original product "Primary Mandolin". Manufactures and sells the "Eastman Mandolin Classic Model" in collaboration with Eastman Strings Co., Ltd. and S.I.E. Co., Ltd.
2009	Manufacture and sale of original product "Primary Mandora"
2011	Started musical instrument sales and inspection services in China
